We are an electricity producer from wind, solar, hydro, biomass and storage and also a service provider to 3rd party clients such as Development, EPC, O&M and Distribution.Today we are in 20 countries, split among 4 continents, and offering a global operating capacity to our clients. We are listed on the regulated Euronext market in Paris since July 2014.

 

Reporting to the Head of Growing Countries, the Country Manager is responsible for:

  • Voltalia’s representation:

- Represent Voltalia in the capacity of “ambassador” of Voltalia’s businesses in Albania;

- Build, foster and maintain relationships with local, national and regional authorities as well as other stakeholders, important to the success of Voltalia’s business and activities in Albania;

  • Voltalia Albanie’s economic development:

- Propose, develop, and implement a business plan and annual budget to ensure the growth of the company;

- Be responsible for & manage the P&L;

- Be responsible of the projects’ financing with the support of the investment and funding Business Line and the local development team;

- Oversee the operation and optimization of Voltalia’s assets in Albania, with a view to the continual improvement in operating practices and indicators and the maximization of the assets’ value over time;

- Oversee the operations of the business in Albania and put in place the necessary people, processes and systems to build a profitable and well managed subsidiaries in Albania;

- Assume such responsibilities as would be typical of a General Manager of a business operating in Albania (legal, claims, disputes, governance, fiduciary, fiscal);

- Achieve the objectives, execute the strategy, address the priorities, and comply with the agreed budget with respect to the geography;

- Prepare and present periodical reports to the N+1 on the activity of Voltalia in Albania, on the Development of projects and the IPP management;

- More generally, report on all significant issues to the N+1 and follow their instructions, as well as Business Line managers instructions;

  • The supervision and support of Voltalia teams in Albania:

- Facilitate and contribute to in-country management of internal staff on permanent and temporary placements (e.g. Construction or O&M Deployments);

- Lead, support and coordinate the teams working for Voltalia in the country to facilitate their integration, the achievement of their missions and to maintain the high motivation of all employees, with the support of the HR department;

- Manage the teams in Albania to ensure all employees are aware of and aligned with the objectives and priorities of the business, that there is a clarity of purpose and opportunities for professional development for all employees, and that all employees are well integrated into Voltalia’s activities and aware of and aligned with Voltalia’s values and mission;

- Build, foster and maintain positive and constructive relationships with the various Business Lines in support of their strategy and activities in Albania, as well as with the various corporate support functions operating from France and Portugal;

- Support the management and daily tasks associated to Voltalia Albanie in association with Finance, ASIF, Development, Senior Management, and all Business Lines;

  • The leading of Albania’s development team:

- Lead the country's project development activities, from prospection and origination through to permitting and construction, to build a quality project pipeline in line with the objectives of the Mid-Term Plan for Albania;

- Delegate such activities to direct reports as is necessary and put in place communication and oversight of those direct reports to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the core management team in Albania;

- Work with the internal and external teams in all the technical, legal and commercial activities necessary for the success of the development projects;

- Identify and evaluate new potential renewable energy projects and opportunities within Albania’s market for renewable energy projects and other related opportunities as they arise;

- Gain detailed insight of competitive environment to be used for developing the overall business strategy;

  • The promotion of Voltalia’s culture in Albania:

- Foster a safe, respectful, collaborative, passionate, dynamic, and entrepreneurial working environment, where employees feel valued and are encouraged to contribute;

- Assume the responsibility for achieving the HSE objectives set for Albania, put in place appropriate HSE training for relevant employees, supervise the HSE Committee’s actions and plan, and ensure continuous constructive communication with employees to promote a culture of safety across all Voltalia activities.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Master’s degree in a technical field and/or business;
  • Proven track record in the development and/or management of energy projects;
  • Proven track record managing a P&L and achieving commercial objectives;
  • Legal and financial proficiency;
  • Proven track record in management;
  • Strong knowledge and relevant experience in the renewable energy field;
  • Understanding of the Geography’s electricity sector, energy regulations and competitive landscape;
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferred. Other languages are a plus.
