Senior Finance Controller

Under the authority of the Regional CFO along with in-depth relationship with the Head of Africa and International, the Senior Finance Controller is fully responsible for any administrative and finance matters in all Voltalia affiliate companies registered and future companies in its region, being the face of finance outside the company.

 

Its responsibilities include:

 

Accounting: responsible to organize and validate the financial statements production and analysis in collaboration with the external accounting company.

 

Performance Control: responsible to animate the budget, along with the cost and cash control, monitoring the following steps:

  • Acknowledge the objectives assigned to the country and translate them into Budget hypothesis, anticipating the budget planning process drilling down appropriate instructions to the different department of the country;
  • Consolidate and analyse the budget for the country scope along with the Head of Africa and International;
  • Animate cost control reporting over the cost centre or projects in relation with assets owners and BL Manager to promote the cost control approach;
  • Prepare monthly reporting to be shared regarding budget control and prepare and present quarterly business reviews;
  • Adapt the hypothesis along the new events, preparing in such aspect a year end landing;
  • Detect the coding recurring mistakes and promote solution to prevent them;

  • Produces and applies the Group's management rules on cost reallocation (example: PRU and evaluation of work in progress, re-invoicing, allocation of hours, control of turnover and invoicing, ...);
  • Update and periodic control the Pipeline of projects under development to ensure compliance with the activation criteria in collaboration with the operational staff;
  • Support the ASIF team to provide required information on bank financing, being also the referent of the financial information for all Business Line’s.
  • Follow-up and optimisation of the cash flow forecast to anticipate potential needs for the development and construction of projects in the portfolio in collaboration with the Project Managers;

 

Reporting: to communicate efficiently financial and extra-financial information to the Group, the Senior Finance Controller must compile with central team reporting guidance and anticipate warning over any deviation, by: acknowledging central instruction for the monthly and quarterly closings; providing feedback to the central team over major events, technical matters, and analytical review; ensuring the IFRS GAAP posting compliance; being responsible for Submission & Audit Package validation under IFRS; coordinating Audit works when applicable and conducting a Lesson learned session on a quarterly basis to improve the reporting process.

 

Internal Control: responsible to ensure the internal control is in place with minimum segregation of duties and detailed checks over the enterprise process and most specifically: Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash, Record to Report and HR costs to Payment (dedicated control over staff costs and payments).

 

Financial Information System - responsible to:

  • Ensure the current accounting system is compliant with local rules and that it can also satisfy reporting needs requested by the Group;
  • Implement the local alternative system via software or process (i.e. Power Apps, Docusign, etc.) to assure workflows are managed and respected;
  • Accompany the transition to the Group ERP, if applicable.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

The ideal candidate will have/ be:

  • Business school or post-graduate degree in management;
  • At least 8 years of previous experience in finance and accounting, including experience in a fast-growing environment (transformation of the finance function, implementation of procedures, ...);
  • Knowledge Areas:
    • General and cost accounting;
    • Tax education;
    • Audit processes;
    • Knowledge of ERP and consolidation software;
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office;
  • English proficiency.

The Senior Finance Controller must be proactive to pilot the resources towards a common goal for better profitability. Other important qualities include:
