An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Real Estate Officer/Land Rights Specialist to join our experienced and successful development team.

 

The successful candidate will work within the South African Development team supporting the establishment and smooth running of all site prospection related activities. The successful candidate should ideally have experience in the identification of land opportunities and securing of such land rights for renewable energy projects within South Africa.

 

  • Identify, evaluate and appraise land for renewable energy projects throughout South Africa
  • Negotiate Lease Agreements and Servitudes Agreements
  • Obtain all necessary documents for the successful registration of lease and servitudes agreements
  • Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders and business contacts (landowners, land agents, utilities, regulators, municipalities, specialist, consultants, legal teams etc.)
  • Complete early development activities relating to the qualification of the prospection and opportunity portfolio
  • Complete early budgets and simplified financial models to support the projects business case
  • Make internal reporting
  • Represent Voltalia at industry events as required
  • Any other development related activities

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • At least 3 years’ experience in land acquisition
  • Fluent in English and preferably Afrikaans
  • Driving license, ability to travel frequently around South Africa is an inherent requirement of the job
  • GIS Proficiency advantageous
