The Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator is responsible for coordinate teams that cooperate in promoting and ensuring the health and safety of Voltalia workers and subcontractors, in accordance with the environmental requirements and continuous improvement processes to satisfy stakeholders and ensuring legal compliance. The main responsibilities are: - Development of Health, Safety & Environment Plans and Inspection and Prevention Procedures for risk activities.
- Responsible for implementing all Voltalia HSE Management System through Voltalia’s tools and guidelines, whilst compliant with local legislation and standards.
- Report, on a Monthly basis, all the Key Performance Indicators related to the Business Line to the HSE Manager (or Regional Manager) and the HSE Corporate Team.
- Train workers and contractors on Voltalia’s LOTO Master Program, whenever it’s needed.
- Plan and organize activities, documents, and meetings related to O&M HSE and the O&M Integrated Management System.
- Supervise the management and update of O&M records and other documentation related to HSE: audits, inspections, reports, certifications, permits, training, etc.
- Database maintenance on health & safety accidents and their treatment.
- Participation in safety meetings and in the coordination of work safety.
- Prepare and conduct HSE presentations, training, and awareness sessions for O&M employees.
- Conducting safety inspections on-site and legal compliance in Health and Safety at Work in accordance with applicable specifications and standards.
- Promote Voltalia’s culture of care by encouraging non-HSE Inspections and Good Catches, as the report of near misses.
- Select, buy, and manage the O&M PPE - Personal Protective Equipment and the HSE Monitoring and Measuring Equipment.
- Through document analysis, ensure that the company’s workers and all those who work on its behalf comply with the legislation, using Voltalia’s tools.
- Ensure that all machines that can be used by the company’s employees and all those who work on their behalf, comply with the minimum safety requirements in accordance with the legislation.
- Approval of definitions and specifications of the different safety equipment of the sites.
- Ensure that all measure & monitoring equipment are calibrated according to the calibration/verification program.
- Suspension of the execution of any work when the legal and safety conditions do not exist, immediately reporting to the hierarchy and informing the O&M immediate Responsible.
- Assists with the development and implementation of appropriate location emergency response systems.
- Verification and technical support in terms of Health & Safety at Work of O&M Managers, O&M Site Technical Leads, O&M Site Technician, O&M Coordinators, O&M Technicians and O&M Site Specialist.
- Participate in the development of Procedures and Develop RAMS for Voltalia works and review the subcontractor’s RAMS and HSE documentation.
- Support in preparation of the environmental documentation in the tendering stage Operation & Maintenance.
- Database maintenance on environmental accidents and their treatment.
- Conducting environmental monitoring of works and sites and periodic visits to the respective local.
- Verification of the environment legal compliance.
- Supporting in the implementation and management of the Integrated Management System for Quality, Safety & Environment (HSE) and collaborate in the definition and implementation of all procedures and documents relating to the HSE activities (if applicable).
- Search for continuous improvement through audits and monitoring of internal processes.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will be/have: - At least 5 years of experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge/Specific Training: Training in Health and Safety at Work and/or Environmental.
- Post Graduate studies in Occupational Health and Safety and/or Environment are essential requirements as NEBOSH or IOSH.
- Experience and knowledge of ISO 45001 and IS014001 (qualified as an internal auditor is a plus).
- Pedagogical Competency Certificate; Domain in applicable law.
- English fluent; French and Portuguese are a plus.
