COE Engineering Manager M/F

To serve our Engineering, Procurement & Construction business line our Center of Expertise is looking for a Engineering Manager, who will have the following responsibilities for solar and storage projects:

  • Act as ambassador of safety by design, by having rules and strategical follow-up to the importance of safety when designing and implementing projects
  • Support EPC business line in their engineering needs, especially during the preparation and execution of projects
  • Oversee the successful execution of solar PV projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Define and deploy the design office procedures, tools and methods, including on the approach to external engineering companies (subcontractors) or remote design offices by having a clear framework for fast response time
  • Supervise people allocation and subcontracting to projects
  • Coordinate with regional EPC managers and Global planner Engineering resources allocation (external engineering and internal resources)
  • Act as the Center of Expertise focal point regarding Return on Experience (REX) on executed EPC projects, both for internal (done for Voltalia as IPP) and external (for third parties)
  • Provide LCOE improvement that increases competitiveness on Voltalia’s offers

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the engineering department serving EPC, aligning with the company's long-term goals
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge
  • Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness for execution, in alignment with the other COE managers
  • Drive engineering team to show the impact of technical choices especially on the CAPEX/OPEX
  • Utilize internal and external resources optimizing cost, time and quality
  • Ensure the correct implementation of COE Engineering processes and standardization
  • Fulfil the internal tracking requirements that allow traceability of hours, resources and needs on the short and long run
  • Establish and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to guarantee the reliability and performance of solar PV systems

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Master’s degree or Degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred)
  • Relevant experience in engineering/renewables (+5 years)
  • Good skills in CAD tools, Excel and simulation tools (PVSyst)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical projects and PV
  • Previous Team Management
  • Valued network with external engineering companies
  • Fluent in English. Portuguese, French or Spanish advanced level is a plus
  • Availability for national and international travels
  • THIS POSITION CAN BE BASED IN PORTO OR OLIVEIRA DE FRADES (VISEU)
