Voltalia is recruiting for a highly experienced and self-motivated individual to support the design, development and execution of renewable energy projects in Albania. In collaboration with existing technical experts, the engineer will be part of the Centre of Expertise (COE) team providing direct technical support to the project teams for all projects within the development, construction and operational phase and coordinating work between the technical and non-technical teams. The main responsibilities of the role are to provide daily engineering support to the: - Development team, validating projects and supporting all phases of development with tasks including: project layout, sizing, Energy Yield Assessment, technical/cost analysis, electrical design, civil and topography analysis, grid connection etc.;
- Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) teams for projects in the construction phase with tasks including compiling RFQs, qualifying suppliers, providing technical specification assistance, engineering support at the detailed design phase and supporting construction teams as required;
This Engineering support includes the following tasks: - Coordinate CAD design by providing inputs for the design of power plants, regarding local constraints, specificities of the project, electrical configuration and technical conditions and monitor the progress of their work for project optimization;
- Execute the electrical diagrams (Single Line Diagrams – SLD), prepare the bill of quantities (on the electrical side);
- Execute the technical documents (written documents, drawings, O&M dossier); compile technical descriptions and executive designs, technical calculations, technical specifications, drawings for project licensing, EPC and execution based on site constraints (including geo and tech constraints);
- Optimize and study alternative engineering solutions considering both technical and economic impacts;
- Contact suppliers for technical discussion of existing and/or alternative solutions;
- Analyze the technical information of the project by specialized team (Power system, civil, etc.) to evaluate its impact in the electrical design of the project;
- Analyze/compare the meteorological data, estimated gross production, estimated net production;
- Assess the energy yield using simulation software like PVsyst, following the rules and guidelines defined by the Solar Competence Center;
- Grid Connection process, validation, submission;
- Support the Asset Owner at each stage: Investment Proposal, Construction, Performance optimization, Repowering etc.;
- Technical assessment of site surveys completed by external providers;
- Support for market analysis if necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree or Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electrotechnical preferred / Civil basis is a plus); graduated from recognized leading Engineering School;
- 5 years minimum experience in engineering/renewables, in electrical projects;
- Knowledge of solar, wind and storage projects. Photovoltaic projects experience is valued;
- Proficient in CAD tools (AutoCAD) and simulation tools, especially in PVSyst. (WaSP or WindPRO knowledge is a plus);
- Complete knowledge of local regulatory framework and international standards;
- Good local network with external stakeholders in the sector;
- Fluent level of English;
- Knowledge of French or Portuguese is advantageous but not required.
